Today WordPress announced the release of WordPress 4.0, a new update that tweaks the writing experience and introduces a redesigned look for the content management system’s plugin and media library pages.
Version 4.0 of WordPress, named “Benny” in honor of jazz clarinetist and bandleader Benny Goodman, is available for download or update in your WordPress dashboard. The release is to enhance and to brings you a smoother writing and management experience.
Now, when WordPress users go to write a new post, embedded videos and tweets will automatically display in the “visual” compose window. And browsing photos in the media library now feels a bit more immersive, with a full-screen grid design. As for the updated plugin browser, WordPress shares that it has improved the built-in plugin search tool and now displays additional metrics that reflect the popularity and stability of a plugin.
